How To Get Clients [Chapter 6]

One of the most fun and complex decisions you can make is nailing down who your YOLO client is. In this section, we’ll get connected and learn how to get clients.

Identifying your YOLO clients will:

•Allow you to speak directly to them and allow your ideal clients to find you more easily

•Allow you to be more specialized in your offer to solve their specific issues and charge higher prices

•Allow others to refer you more easily (the more unique your YOLO client is, the more you stand out and are memorable)

How To Get Clients 

Nevertheless, it is okay to switch and continuously narrow your segment of audience (niche) and it is not uncommon for people to go through multiple “niche switches” until they find the right fit with their offerings and clients.

Step 1: Identify Who/What Lights You Up The Most

There are many ways you can go about identifying your target niche, and it all comes down to what lights you up the most (which you’ll be intrinsically inspired to stick with the longest)

Pick one of these: 

A.Inspiration: who inspires you the most?

B. A problem you feel CALLED to solve 

C. A big, urgent problem you just can’t stop thinking about 

Ultimately, it’s okay not to choose. It’s okay to spend the next couple of years interacting with different groups of people and see who you really enjoy. But again, getting an idea in the early stages of who you’d like to contribute to (or recalibrating if your current clientele no longer lights you up) will assist your confidence, motivation, and profitability.

Step 2: Capitalize On Your YOLO Strengths

What would it take to share your skills with more people while bringing you a life of more freedom, fun, connection, and abundance?

•What personal or professional challenges have you gone through that you would like to support others in?

•Why do people come to you? What do they naturally seek your advice on? 

If this is your first business, you will take the next six months to hone your muscles as an entrepreneur and learn valuable skills to execute your ideas.

If you’re a seasoned entrepreneur and find that the customers you’re serving are no longer inspiring you, you can consider honing in and better serving the clients who are raving fans of yours already, or finding out how you can better serve the ones you love working with.

Step 3: Engage And Get Feedback From Your YOLO Client!

Just like dating, the more clients you have, the clearer you are about what you want and what you don’t want, who you love working with and who you can provide the most results for.

The beauty about doing this exercise is training your mind to focus on the qualities, characteristics, and nature of your YOLO clients.

Business and work is about relationships, right? The more you place your attention on what you do want, the more it shows up. (And the opposite is true too: the more you complain about what you don’t want, the more the complaints bring up similar incidents.)

As an entrepreneur, once you have identified who your YOLO client is, stick with it for a product launch. See the response and feedback before moving on. In the next section we will identify what your YOLO offer is.

If you haven’t made your YOLO client list yet, I highly recommend going back and jotting that down, as this will seamlessly lead to the next section where you’ll be creating offers or projects to involve your favorite YOLO clients!

Manage Emotions [YOLO Chapter 1]

This blog is a 10 part series that outlines my book! This first part will be about how I learned to manage emotions.

After a break up managing emotions can be extremely difficult. In todays age if we are thinking about an ex we may fire up Instagram to see what they are up to.

When I experienced my first major break up I reminisced about the past and would wonder "Does he ever think about me? Was what we had together significant?" At this point, I felt upset, hurt and drained.

I was at rock bottom, I felt ashamed and hurt beyond belief

When I finally decided enough was enough, I turned to mindfulness, neuroscience, metaphysics, the law of attraction, philosophy, all kinds of self-help, trying to find a way to let go, move on, and turn that energy into something positive!

I realized I have to love myself first and become the best me I can be! In order to become my best me I asked my self the following questions.

What would it take to be the happiest that I can be, from within?

What would it take to create the sense of love, safety, meaning, and confidence within myself so that I am living and breathing it?

I began by focusing on my emotions. I wanted to learn how to manage stress efficiently. I vowed to NEVER be in a position where my emotions took control again! I learned how to comprehend what loving myself meant, instead of relying on others for approval.

I learned to take my imaginations and dreams more seriously. I was finally able to understand that the only person I could count on to consistently create a life that I wanted for myself was me! I was finallyy able to manage my emotions.

4 Steps To Manage Emotions

The 4 steps to manage emotions are:

  1. Say Yes To What Lights You Up
  2. Say Yes To Your Why
  3. Say YES To Being Vulnerable And Authentically You
  4. Say YES To Impact And Co- Creation

If you follow these steps to manage emotions!

Say YES To What Lights You Up

When learning how to get over my break up and how managing emotions was something I had to be better at.

Your journey to freedom begins with the freedom of emotion. You have to learn how to manage emotions.

Your emotions can either be something to be ashamed of or something to be proud of. One of the ways I manage my emotions is by having 3 commitments I live my life by.

My top three commitments are freedom, fun, and inspired connection.

Say YES To Your Why

What motivates you to live your best life? Is it imagination, traveling alone or just life experiences in general.

Imagination (Write the speech your best friend is giving at your funeral, about you and the difference you’ve made.)

2. Solo travel. You find out more about yourself, how you respond to uncertainty and find a whole new level of resourcefulness and confidence.

During this time, ponder what is important to you now and what you want out of this part of your life

3. Perspective-shifting experiences (Transformational events or retreats. Remember to journal about what it has brought up for you in terms of your mission or purpose.)

Say YES To Being Vulnerable And Authentically You

Freedom from emotion means that you are able to forgive, let go, move on from things in the past that are not going to serve you in this next chapter of your journey. This is what managing emotions can do. These feelings include anything that makes you feel less than empowered: guilt, shame, betrayal.

Ask yourself: What would it take to release all emotions to live my best life?

Say YES To Impact And Co- Creation

How does impact play a role in your life?

How do you want to impact your own life and the lives around you?

Even though I was already helping people one on one and in groups and workshops internationally, I wanted to feel even more purpose from the work I did.

I love changing lives and contributing in a unique way; it lit me up so much being with my clients and helping them achieve their YOLO Lives. When their lives changed, when they made some big, bold moves, when they tried something new, or when they went through hard times and were at the brink of giving up, I was there with them. I love my clients so much and am so thrilled and happy, and want to see them win in the long run.

How do you deal with stressful situations at work or in your life directly correlates to how much ease and joy you experience overall.

Whether you are stressed from incredible pressures, or you are finding yourself pouring every ounce of energy into completing a never ending to-do list or you find yourself shouldering all your team's work, mastering the art of staying calm can make or break your overall mood of the day.

This article will shed some light on some of the factors that cause the most stress at work - and also offer a meditation to increase that calm wherever you are.

What is YOUR Cause Of Stress At Work?

Before jumping to the solution, identify what is causing your work stress, first.

According to the American Psychological Association there are the following most common causes of work stresses.

Which one relates to you the most?

  • Low salaries.
  • Excessive workloads.
  • Few opportunities for growth or advancement.
  • Work that isn't engaging or challenging.
  • Not having enough control over job-related decisions.
  • Conflicting demands or unclear performance

Below I will be discussing some causes of stress at work and how to handle it.

#01: Not Paid Enough (Calm even with Money Probs)

Low salaries can be a very stressful especially if you have a lot of bills to pay or a lot of people to support. Feeling stressed about it can increase anxiety, anger or strain relationships.

But remember to stay calm, letting stress get the better of you is only going to make matters worse.

So let's say you are working full time for a company and have a low salary, I would create a spreadsheet to budget and talk to my higher up to try and figure out if there's any way to get a promotion or move up to a higher paying position. I would research how much someone with my same qualifications and job makes as well

.

#02: I Work Too Much

"I work too much!" Have you ever said this?

Working too much can be very dangerous to your health. They can lead to increase blood pressure, problems in your home life and accidents in the workplace. If you are feeling like your workload is too much I would suggest again communicate honestly with your boss.

Find out if there's a way to streamline your work, delegate your work, or find different ways to become more effective at doing it.

If all else fails - propose a plan for support so that you can communicate exactly what you need in order to deliver the results that your boss is asking you to, while asking for the exact resources.

#03: Career Advancement (How to develop your career)

Feeling like your stuck and have no room to grow in your career can be extremely stressful.

Advancing in your career could lead to a pay increase and the chance to learn new skills.

If you feel stuck in your current position you could try to network within your current company for a new position, or try to find another position at another company.

The later would be a bit risky but stay calm! This could lead to more benefits and a better life. If you chose this path I would suggest networking, take advantage of sites liked LinkedIn to connect with people.

When using sites like LinkedIn and connecting with people, don't flat out ask for a job right away!

Message someone who works for a company you want to work for, and invite them for coffee or an informational interview. Once you meet them just pick their brain, ask how they got started, what advice they would give and at the end say thank you and ask "Is there anyone else you would recommend I connect with?" That way you don't flat out ask for a job but you are meeting with people who could get you a job.

#04: Bored At Work? What to do!

Sometimes we might take a job just because its a job and we need income. However if we are not doing something that is fulfilling in our lives that could be stressful. Its difficult to take a job serious when you are not passionate about your work and are bored at work. If you feel a lull at work, your productivity will go down and your mood at home could be affected as well.

In order to combat this try switching up your work routine. According to Monster.com "This could be learning a new skill or activity, attending a professional networking event, or joining a work committee that’s outside of their job description." However if you really want to switch up your routine to combat the feeling of not being engaged you could try a Spiritual Meditation.

Meditation is a great way to find purpose and fulfillment at the workplace and just in general! In fact at the end of this blog I will give an example of a meditation to help you stay calm and find peace.

#05: No Freedom at Work

I recently read an interview with Professor Cary Cooper of University of Manchester who talked about how no freedom at work or no control of job can lead to negative consequences on your health.

Professor Cooper said "Research over the last couple of decades has shown that people who feel they have no control, no autonomy over the job they do in the work place are likely to get a stress related illness. "

Professor Cooper went on to talk about how the current culture of jobs are changing, where in the past once you got a job you seemed to keep it for life.

However in today's job culture " jobs are just insecure, from shop floor to top floor. Whether you're a blue collar or a manager, jobs are no longer for life."

#06: Conflicting Demands From Your Boss

It's more common for nowadays for people to have multiple bosses and with this comes conflicting demands. You don't know who to listen to!

You might feel like its impossible to please all of them and that can be extremely stressful. However there is a way to not feel too stressed out.

If you have multiple bosses ask questions about who reports to who. There will be one "ultimate boss" if you will and you should try to please the ultimate boss first and worry about the others later. If you understand who has the most power you can work to try to listen to them the most because they can help your career the most.

3 Steps to Live Life to The Fullest [Chapter 2 Your YOLO Lifestyle ]

In this blog post , we will dive into how to begin constructing a fulfilling YOLO Lifestyle—by YOUR definition and we will be discussing what it means to live life to the fullest!

If you’re thinking, I’m already living my YOLO Lifestyle, I challenge you to think again. Some very successful corporate clients lived what they believed was their YOLO Lifestyle: taking every chance they could to take luxurious, exotic vacations, only to find that upon their return, their “Monday Blues” had gone shades darker and they were counting down the days until their next escape fix.

So many times we set out to live a successful life based on the things we think will bring us joy, and yet when we get there, it’s not all that is described.

Creating your own playbook of success is a trial and error process that has components that target your insides just as much as the external manifestation and result. So lets jump right in!

Introducing: You Only Live Once (YOLO) Lifestyle

I’ve been alluding to this YOLO concept, but what exactly is it? If you’re unfamiliar The phrase "YOLO" gained popularity in 2012 with the song "The Motto" by Drake. It’s a concept often associated with heavy drinking and a glorified excuse for choosing fun above all else.

I take a less flippant approach to this.


Have you ever seriously considered who you’d be, what purpose you’d have, what life you’d lead, if you weren’t doing what you’re doing right now?

Imagine you are on your death bed. Are you happy with how your life turned out? Did you live a life that was absolutely YOURS?

If you had all of the skills, confidence, and opportunities available to you, what would you do with your life?

Step 1: 

Get Into Your YOLO State

Imagine being transported to the reality where you are truly experiencing your YOLO Life. Imagine taking your first conscious breath in the morning as your alarm rings and slowly opening your eyelids with a soft smile on your face, happy for the day ahead.

Is it possible to live a You Only Live Once (YOLO) Lifestyle right now?

Step 2:

Create Your YOLO Happy List

Think about your last few years. How much have you grown as a person? How much more meaning and impact have you had with those around you? Are you happier?

I had a corporate job but I wasn't happy with my life.

I decided to take responsibility and decided that instead of feeling dejected, every time I wanted something more, I was going to capture that on a list.

The list was on Google Docs!

Soon, something magical happened.

Every time I put something in, I looked at what was in there before and I was accomplishing those. This list soon became a list of 133 items and the biggest capturer of everything that has crossed my mind that I want to do.

"Whenever I feel absolutely uninspired, I go back to that list and find something I am excited about and set out to do that.

It is one of the simplest ideas, and it WORKS"

The list gave me a place to acknowledge how far I’ve come. I didn’t know it at that time, but if I had to pinpoint the single system with most impact that I’ve used in my life to create a ton of breakthroughs, experiences, and get my YOLO Lifestyle and business, this is it!

Step 3:

Knocking Your YOLO Items Off Your List Right Now!

You have no idea how many amazing, ass-kicking people I meet who say, “I don’t want to do everything at once,” or “What if I run out of things?” This is a classic fear of the unknown or fear of success situation.

In one way it’s completely true, right? If you eat all of your M&Ms, you’ll have none left. 

Another fear that people have when executing their YOLO Happy Lists is exactly that: your dreams will get bigger and bigger and how on earth are you going to quench the thirst of this hungry you.

Well, the one thing that I know is that these ideas and inspirations often come from our higher selves.

Just like what we discussed earlier about states, you can achieve the vibrational and emotional frequency of the state that you’re looking at and wishing for right now!
