The Law of Attraction maintains that positive thinking will bring about positive results and outcomes, whereas if you aren't thinking positively - you'll attract all the bad stuff. What Does Law of Attraction Actually MEAN?
The definition of the Law of Attraction is “the attractive, magnetic power of the Universe that draws similar energies together. It manifests through the power of creation, everywhere and in many ways.”
Essentially what that means is we use our thoughts and energy to focus on an idea or goal and by doing so we turn that thought into reality. Sounds crazy I know, but when you think about it this notion actually does make sense. It's like speaking something into reality.

Understanding the Law of Attraction
Expert opinions on the Law of Attraction vary greatly. When you search “is the law of attraction real” you will be met with a wide range of answers. Some people completely reject the concept while others seem to accept it as the absolute truth.
The majority of people who are against the Law of Attraction give this this type of example to show why it is flawed:
“If I just sit around all day and think of a Rolls Royce, one will just show up in my driveway according to the Law of attraction. However, that will never happen”
As much as I would love to think of something and have it appear in my life, I know this will not be the case. This conception, that the Law of Attraction is only about thinking, isn't correct.
To illustrate the correct way to use the Law of Attraction I will give a personal example:
I am currently a digital marketing intern and I really want a career in digital marketing either as a social media manager or a content marketer. Obviously, if I just sit around all day and do nothing, nothing in my life will change. However, if I wake up every day and tell myself I WILL get a job in digital marketing while putting in the work and believing in myself, this is much more likely to become a reality.
If I go to networking events, meet people in my field who I want to emulate and learn from, and put all my focus and energy into digital marketing I will make my dreams come true.
In this scenario I am manifesting my thoughts into reality on the daily. To me, this is what the Law of Attraction is. It is not simply just thinking about things and hoping they appear. It's about being DETERMINED and FOCUSED on whatever your dreams are so that you can manifest them into reality.
The Secret- Law of Attraction
Through my research, I discovered that the concept of the Law of Attraction entered the mainstream lexicon because of a book entitled “The Secret” by Rhonda Byrne. According to the book's website:
“The Secret explains with simplicity the law that is governing all lives and offers the knowledge of how to create – intentionally and effortlessly – a joyful life.”
An example of the Law of Attraction, in this case, would be physical health. If you put out negative energy and feel stressed you will get sick. As we know through previous blog posts, stress and anxiety are bad for your health. Happiness and inner peace can heal the body and help prevent sickness. When you emit positive energy, you will attract joy and health!
Again, with this example, you are putting your FOCUS and ENERGY into a thought and turning it into a reality.
Law of Attraction Meditation
Now that we understand what the Law of Attraction is, how do we focus energy to turn our desires into reality? Well, a great way to do this is with meditation. Law of attraction meditation is a great way to focus our energy into a singular thought or topic.
Remember Law of Attraction will not work if you don't do anything to make it work. You won't make money by just thinking about money. We have to FOCUS our energy on our goal. We meditate to reach a heightened spiritual awareness and it is through this awareness that we are able to focus our energy.
If I am stressed and anxious I am not focusing on my goal and thus will not achieve it. Meditation is critical for making our thoughts into a reality.
